Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has condemned the actions of one Adeyemi Abayomi, who was reported to have unleashed his dogs to viciously attack Police operatives, who were invited by a complainant to his compound.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, The incident occurred on Tuesday 2nd of March, 2021 at about 11:30 am when one Nneka Regina, Female, residing at o 103, Lagos Street, Ebutte Metta, went to Surulere Division to complain against the criminal attitude of the suspect for illegally occupying her property at No 115 Itire Road, Surulere and threats to life.

Some operatives attached to the Station were therefore sent to invite the suspect but were attacked by the dogs on the order of the said Abayomi.
A female officer among the operatives, Inspector Atim Umoh, was said to have sustained serious bodily injury as she was badly bitten by the dogs.
The Commissioner of Police, while ordering the arrest of the suspect, has however reiterated his commitment to defending security personnel against attacks from individuals and groups while discharging their legitimate duties.
The CP directed that the suspect be taken to the State CID for investigation while his dogs are to be picked up by the police Dog Section (K-9) for further action. He further ordered the police medical team of the command to monitor the treatment and health condition of the woman inspector who is recuperating.
In another development, the CP has ordered for the arrest of Lious Nwodi, M, and Ismaila Salisu, M for allegedly assaulting two officials of the Lagos State Management Authority (LASTMA) – Ganiya Ajose, F, and Adeyemi Lanre, M, on the 3rd of March, 2021.
The two suspects, it was learnt, had disobeyed hand signals at the point and sped off but were forced to a halt when their Highlander SUV with Reg. NO AAA 450 DD had a punctured tyre. They were accosted by the officials but the duo beat up the LASTMA Officials.
Reacting to the development, the CP, Odumosu, directed that the suspects be charged to court.
The duo has therefore been arraigned to the Magistrate Court 2, Surulere for conspiracy, Assault on Public Servant and malicious damage on Thursday. 4th of March, 2021.
