It was a devastating night for Barcelona as they were destroyed 8 goals to 2 by a ruthless Bayern Munich in their in a record setting Champions League quarter final in Lisbon on Friday.
With this huge win tonight, Bayern Munich is just one match away from competing for the Champions League trophy which will be against winner of Manchester City and Lyon.
Five of the 10 goals were scored in the first half of the match with Thomas Muller recording the first score while Barcelona were able to equalize through an absolute blunder of an own goal from David Alaba. But that was to be the only expectation of brilliance from the Messi’s side in the first half as Bayern unleashed what was a surprising 3 goals lead.
Hope for a Barca recuperation in the second half of the game was terribly dashed as the rampaging Bundesliga side showed they still had more terror to unleash as they put four more goals past the opponent leaving the Barcelona side with just an additional goal as second half consolation.
This victory makes it the highest goals scored in a Champions League finals knockout match.
