Arsenal Coach Mikel Arteta has described his team’s loss to Brighton as unacceptable.
Speaking to journalists after the game, Arteta blamed the 2-1 loss to Brighton on the inability of the Arsenal squad to contend in a competitive game.
On what went wrong during the game, Arteta said, “the fact that we missed so many chances, the fact that we gave them the first goal, and we didn’t compete in the second goal”.
With the 2-1 premiere League loss to Brighton today, The Gunners have now lost back-to-back games, with the defeat in Sussex coming after last Wednesday’s shambolic 3-0 defeat at Manchester City.
“There’s a lot of things they have gone really well but we don’t compete,” continued Arteta. “At this level you cannot give those sort of goals away. The gunners were the better side in most part of the game, but things turned for the worst the moment Arsenal threw away a one goal lead given to them by Nicholas Pepe with just over 20 minutes remaining.
