Following growing concerns over the rising confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, the National Universities Commission, NUC, has directed Vice-Chancellors of Universities to place all academic activities involving large crowds in their respective campuses on hold pending further guidelines.
This is sequel to Federal Government’s issued circular directing Officers on Grade Level 12 and below to stay at home for a period of five weeks starting from Wednesday, 23 2020 owing to the resurgence of the virus.
According to a circulated memo by its Deputy Executive Secretary (Administration), Chris Maiyaki, NUC directed all activities within classrooms, hostel accommodation, conferences and seminars to be put on immediate hold while also ordering the closure of Universities during the prevalent period until further directives are given by the government.
