Many EndSars protesters demonstrating at the Lekki toll-gate have been reportedly killed after been hit by stray bullets coming from some soldiers deployed to that part of Lagos.
Following the declaration of a 24-hour curfew in Lagos State, reports are coming in that some soldiers operating along Lekki toll-gate area of Lagos State, have ambushed and opened fire on #EndSars protesters demonstrating in that axis.
The soldiers are said to be part of those earmarked for the operation “Crocodile Smile” which the Nigerian Army, after series of public concerns, had assured Nigerians it’s operation was not targeted at the peaceful protesters.
The attack on the protesters has generated a lot of reactions nationwide as many wondered why a curfew imposed at such a very short notice could warrant the use of force on the peaceful unarmed protesters who were already at the site before the curfew pronouncement by the state governor.
Disturbing footages from the scene of the incident shows some of the protesters clogged together in an unknown location around the area, lamenting the unwarranted attack by military forces who they claimed had ambushed them from all possible route of escape.
The footage, aired live by popular DJ, Switch, gave a brief description of the terrible situation of the event at the Lekki toll-gate venue. In the video, a protester, apparently hit by a bullet, was helped by his colleagues at not only removing the shell but ensuring he is alive.
According to an eye witness’s account, “many other protesters have sustained severe injury. This is more serious than what anyone can imagine”.
Another source at the scene of the unfortunate incident alleged that at least four persons have been felled by the shots fired by the soldiers.
