There seems to be no slowing down in the rate at which the COVID-19 is spreading in the second wave of the pandemic in Nigeria as the country again recorded another shocking increase in the newly confirmed cases on Friday.
According to a report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Friday, 1,544 new cases of the disease have been reported in 21 states of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Lagos recorded the highest figure with 739 new cases followed by Plateau and FCT with 168 and 153 cases respectively.
So far, 78,552 victims of the virus have been discharged having tested negative after the treatment, however, sadly enough, a total of 1,342 lives has been lost since the index case was registered in the country.
