Following the directive by the Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police for an immediate investigation and arrests of officers involved in the harassment of a female graduate in a recent viral video, the Nigeria Police Force today announce that all persons involved have been identified while two of the culprits arrested.
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, two suspects, ASP Tijani Olatunji and Inspector Gboyega Oyeniyi, have been arrested for their role in the discreditable conduct and dis-courteousness to a member of the public. They are currently being detained at the Lagos State CID detention facility, Panti, Yaba, Lagos State.
From preliminary investigation conducted, it was revealed that the policemen, who are attached to Area “A” Command, Lion Building, Lagos, were on legitimate investigation activities to Ibadan, Oyo State where the incident took place.
Effort is being deepened to arrest the other two collaborators identified.
The arrest of the of the two officers is in connection to their degrading treatment melted out to a lady in Ibadan who was arrested alongside a wanted suspected kidnapper on the 22nd of July, 2020.
