APC National Chairman – Adams Oshiomole may have to step down as the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman following the decision of The Court of Appeal on Tuesday which upheld an order suspending him as National Chairman of the party based on lack of merit.
An Abuja High Court, in March 2020, had ordered the suspension of Oshiomole as the APC National Chairman.
In a ruling on the appeal filed by the Appellants, Adams Oshiomole, and the All Progressive Party (APC), the court appellate court sustained the decision of the Abuja High Court delivered by Justice Danlami Senchi which, in March, ordered the suspension of Oshiomole as well as restraining him from parading himself as the National Chairman of the party.
While delivering the judgement, the maintains that Oshiomole’s suspension from Ward 10 of Etsako Local government in Edo State, was ratified at the ward, local and state government level as required by law. More so is the fact that the identity of those who suspended him was verifiable and genuine as they made it clear that they were party members and officers of the party. This, the appellate court pointed out as unchallenged affidavit before the court. Also, while delivering the judgement on the second appeal by Oshiomole and APC, Justice Mohammed Lamido disagreed with the appellant that their right to a fair hearing was breached by the trial court.
