Donald Trump may permanently lose his Twitter account if the news coming from Social Media Giant Twitter is anything to go by.
Twitter says it is banning President Donald Trump from its platform due to “risk of further incitement of violence”.
Donald Trump has been under fire for encouraging violence and civil unrest through a series of tweets that misled his supporters about the presidential election results which culminated into violent rioters laying siege and overrunning the United States Capitol.
Twitter wrote, “After a close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” the company wrote in a blog post on Friday”.
The company had earlier announced a two days ban on the account of Trump after he was initially suspended on Wednesday.
Other platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, owned by Facebook, had on Thursday hit the president with an at least two weeks suspension which the tech giant says may be permanent after further review, but his Twitter account met dead-blow when he posted a video that repeated false claims about election fraud and seemed to show support for the protesters who overran the Capitol.
