Democrats’ Joe Biden has been elected the 46th United States of America’s president after securing 290 college votes to oust President Trump, who had 214, in a keenly contested presidential election.
The president-elect successfully polled 20 more to surpass the 270 electoral votes-threshold required after AP announced Pennsylvania to his advantage.
Republican’s choice candidate and outgoing president, Trump, has continuously decried polls manipulations and have even threatened legal action, but he is yet to come up with backing evidence.
This poll count from Pennsylvania will now put to rest the many days of apprehension over what the outcome of the hard-fought elections will be.
A historic moment it would be for the Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris, who now becomes the first-ever woman of colour to attain such position in the United States of America.
Harris has constantly rebuked the outgoing president for fuelling racial attacks as well as causing division in the country.
Starmediaren will provide more updates as events unfolds.
