US President, Donald Trump, has been impeached by the House of Representatives for his inciting statements which induced a massive siege by supporters at the Capitol last week.
By this development, Trump now becomes the first president in American history to be impeached twice over crime-related charges by Congress.
Donald Trump’s impeachment was ensured after several hours of debate on Wednesday by a Democratic-controlled house backed also by 6 Republicans.
But it is however unlikely that the embattled president, whose inability to secure the victory at the recently concluded polls has seen him condemned the electoral process which he alleged was ridden with fraud, would leave the White house before his term in office ends in one week as the Senate was not expected to convene in time.
