A robbery suspect named Isaiah, 25, has lamented how pressures from his friends led him into armed robbery against his will.
Speaking to journalist on his experience in the illegitimate profession, Isaiah, who goes by the nick name, Omotesoju, disclosed that while his criminal operations usually took place at night, he was combining his armed robbery profession with his legitimate handwork of a bricklayer, a work he claimed his family only associates him with.
On how he has been able to keep his dirty activities away from the knowledge of his family, Isaiah said, “they no absolutely nothing about my armed robbery profession at all, and I don’t take any of the proceed from the illegal business to my family because I don’t want them to be spoilt by such money”.
“I don’t want anything that will spoil my family as such I don’t take any money realised from robbery home to feed my family.” he stated
Isaiah left his house at 27 Aboqunloko Asejere area of Ikotun and joined their gang members, Akeem, a.k.a AK, and Adisa Aderibigbe in Ayobo with their guns and operational motorcycle around 5 am.
When asked about all the monies he had illegally acquired from his criminal venture, Omotesoju claimed he spent all drinking, smoking and womanizing.
The suspect was arrested along with his colleague named Adisa, in a failed attempt to rob some houses around Ayobo area of Lagos state. They were successfully repelled by some operatives of the Ipaja Police Command, led by the Divisional Police Officer, DSP Tokunbo Aboniwonda, who acted on intelligence received from members of the community.
Some residents who spoke to our correspondence on condition of anonymity disclosed that individuals residing and doing businesses in the area has been living under fear do to the nefarious activities of the suspects. They expressed joy at the successful apprehension of the criminals and commended the police for their efforts.
A third suspect who escaped arrest is currently at large.
