Popular Lagos politician and business man, Honourable Oluwatosin Onamade has declared his intention to represent Ikorodu Constituency II at the forth-coming 2023 Lagos State House of Assembly Elections under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He made the formal declaration on Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos State on Saturday April 23, 2022 amidst a massive gathering of party front-runners, group followers, traditional leaders, supporters and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Onamade stated that his decision to join the Lagos State House of Assembly race is “compelled by the urgency of current prevalent economic situation affecting citizens of Ikorodu”
While trusting to cling the Ikorodu Constituency II candidacy ticket under the umbrella of the All Progress Congress, the aspirant said “It gladdens my heart to stand before you today to expressly heed the call of our community members and party leaders, who have placed a high level of trust and faith, not only on me, but also on my leadership capabilities and ability to provide true representation for Ikorodu Constituency II.”
“As a man who is highly passionate about public service, I am inspired by the courage and achievements of all the leaders who have charted the path of development for Ikorodu constituency II.”
“I assure you that if I am elected as a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, to represent Ikorodu constituency II, I am going to be a visible, listening, discerning and active legislator. I will also contribute my quota to the growth and development of our dear mighty constituency and Lagos State. I will do this and many other great things to fulfill my part of the social contract with the people and collaborate with other arms of government to bring unquantifiable benefits to my people.”

“Therefore, I call on leaders, members, and all stakeholders of our great ruling party within Ikorodu constituency to support my aspiration to be APC flag-bearer in the coming Lagos State House of Assembly election in 2023.”
“I present myself as a capable, courageous, competent and tested hand to make Ikorodu constituency II greater for all my constituents, and I declare that I, Oluwatosin Onamade shall be a true party man and a true representative of my constituents in the state House of Assembly.”
“I am sending a clarion call to our party leaders, members, men and women, youth and the elderly, that there is a lot of work to be done to achieve more in Ikorodu constituency II of our dreams. I urge you all to come out to support and vote for me during our party primaries election so that I can be the APC flag-bearer in the Lagos State House of Assembly in the coming general election.”
An APC leader, Adewale Ajala, urged the party supporters to ensure they are duly registered and obtain their voters card as a significant pre-requisite to partake in voting processes. He said, “For you to show that you belong to APC, for you to show that you love this gentleman (Onamade), you must be registered.

Noting that there are several aspirants springing up to contest for the position, Ajala declared that, based on agreed arrangement in the party, it is the turn of Ijede community to produce the next candidate for the Ikorodu Constituent II House of Assembly representative.
“It is Ijede’s turn! We are now the one to present candidates. As many as possible can come out from Ijede, but it’s agreeable among the community of constituency II that it is now the turn of Ijede.”
Representing the Igbo community in the area, Princess Chief (Mrs) Ezuma Chinyere (Ada Ndigbo Gburugburu Lagos State) showered praises on Onamade for been the only politician who have not only recognized the Igbo community in Ijede, but also included them in his agenda.

She declared total support for Onamade’s aspiration and called on all supporters to ensure his ambition is fully supported.
“I came here today because Onamade recognized us. They have been doing flag offs (but) nobody recognized Igbos. The Igbos are here today because Onamade recognized us.” She said.
